Europe HS Tariff Shipping Requirement
On March 1, 2023, the European Union (EU) announced new requirements for all shipments going to the following countries:
- Europe
- Northern Ireland
- Norway
- Switzerland
While the tariff was imposed on the countries listed above, we have noticed that it affects all European countries.
Due to these changes, if you create a shipment containing a good (regardless of value), we will need to obtain the following information before we proceed with your request:
- Harmonized code (minimum of 6-digits) for each declared item.
- To obtain the code, you can use the site:
- Accurate description for each good in the shipment.
- As an example, if you are mailing clothing, you must declare "cotton clothing". Simply declaring "clothing" is not sufficient.
The harmonized code and detailed description can be placed with the description or in the Special Handling Instructions section when you are creating your shipping request. If you already placed one without this information, do not worry! You are welcome to email us the information by referencing your shipment order number in the subject line or body of the email.
Should we notice that this information is not provided by the time of processing your shipment, one of our team members will reach out to you to collect this so your orders are not returned back to us with postage forfeited.
