Does Form 1583 initiate mail forwarding?

No. USPS Form 1583 only authorizes us to receive mail on your behalf. No mail will be forwarded at this point. To have your mail forwarded, you need to manually file a Change of Address request with USPS.

If you do not wish to have all of your mail forwarded to us, you should manually update your mailing address with anyone who sends you mail. This is ideal if you want only certain types of mail to go to your VirtualPostMail Mailbox.
